Reed Krewson

Meet the Candidate

About Reed

Reed is a proud Kansan, public servant, and young leader. He was born and raised here in Overland Park and has chosen to make OP his forever home. Reed attended grades K–12 in Kansas public schools and has received a degree in political science and Spanish from Kansas State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Kansas.

Reed has dedicated his life to public service. He works for Overland Park Parks and Recreation, helping make OP a place where people want to live, work, and play. He also serves as President of the Kansas Young Democrats, organizing the next generation of Kansans who are ready to lead our state. He's running to bring that commitment to Topeka and give back to the community he owes so much to.

Kansans have been waiting too long for their leaders to expand Medicaid, to fully fund public schools, and protect our land, air, and water. These aren't controversial ideas. They're the things that should have been fixed a long time ago, and Reed is running to get them done.

If elected, Reed will be the youngest House Democrat in Topeka, and that's exactly what this moment calls for. Kansas needs legislators who will live with the consequences of today's decisions for generations to come. Reed isn't new to this work: he's been on campaigns for local, state, and federal candidates since he was 16, and the first thing he did when he turned 18 was file to be a precinct committeeperson. He knows how to organize, how to listen, and how to win.

The District

House District 22

Kansas House District 22 sits in the heart of Overland Park, anchored by a thriving downtown that's home to a vital small business community of locally-owned restaurants, shops, and gathering spaces that give our district its distinct character and culture.

The district is also home to some of OP's most cherished community assets: Thompson Park and Strang Park, where families and community members gather and play; the award-winning Overland Park Farmers' Market, which supports local farmers and feeds our neighbors; the Central Resource Library, a hub for learning, connection, and creativity; and the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center, which preserves and celebrates our community's culture and history.

District 22 deserves a representative who'll fight to protect and grow what makes us special.
